Fiona works at the nexus of climate change and conservation through a distinctly social-ecological lens. Since 2017, she has been a primary resource for translating climate science to conservation practice across Oregon. She currently manages the Coalition of Oregon Land Trust’s Climate Alliance partnership, and has been involved in other climate projects for the Idaho Coalition of Land Trusts, Deschutes Land Trust, and the Resilient Landscapes Initiative.
In 2022, she received an M.S. in Geoscience and a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Analysis from Boise State University, where she was part of the Human-Environment Systems group. Her research in the Cattau Lab revolved around the influence of people, climate change, and wildfire on sagebrush ecosystems.
Previously, she has worked on land protection and climate change planning for the Deschutes Land Trust, as an apprentice educator at the High Mountain Institute, and as a researcher with the Stanford Social Ecology Lab.
Fiona graduated from Stanford University in 2017 with a B.S. in Earth Systems. In her free time, she is an avid backcountry skier, trail runner, and jam-maker. She lives in Bend, Oregon.
